 Geeky Things
This weekend I spent a little while being a geek. Linux has been a bit of a thorn in my side for a little while now. I have tried Centos, Gentoo and Ubuntu, but trying to control them from the terminal has always been my downfall. I used a spare machine at home to try and build a LAMP server and use an open source control panel, which after a few attempts worked quite well. I then paid out money for a Virtual Private Server a few months ago, requested Ubuntu 6.06 and proceeded to try to build my LAMP with the afore mentioned panel. I tried for hours and hours to get that blumming thing working, and it just wouldn't.

Anyway, I still want to be able to do basic things in linux. So after a recommendation I bought a little device made by Linksys. Some people have written new firmwares for the device, resulting in either full linux installations, or kind of half ones.

I installed Debian Linux over the weekend, and made my little Slug (which seems to be the unofficial name given by 'the scene') into a fully fledged webserver. You can see it by clicking the following link...
